Dimitrowo ( Russian Димитрово , German  Ponarth and Schönbusch ) is a district of the Russian city of Kaliningrad in the Kaliningrad Oblast . It is located in the southern district, the Moscow Rajon (Kaliningrad) . The formerly independent villages Ponarth and Schönbusch are united in the district.

location

Dimitrowo is located in the south of Kaliningrad and is four kilometers from the city center. The Russian trunk road A 194 (former German Reichsstrasse 1 ) runs past in the west, and the railway line from Kaliningrad to Mamonowo (Heiligenbeil) for onward travel to Poland separates the two former districts from each other. The next train station is the Ostranowotschny point ("Haltpunkt") Kijewskaja, which before 1945 was called Ponarth .

history

The place formerly called Ponarth was first mentioned in 1385. Between 1874 and 1906 the place gave its name to the administrative district Ponarth, which belonged to the district of Königsberg (Prussia) in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . On April 1, 1905, Ponarth was incorporated into the municipality and the city district of Königsberg.

The village formerly called Schönbusch was a manor village until 1825. In 1874 Schönbusch was incorporated into the administrative district of Ponarth in the district of Königsberg (Prussia) and the administrative district of Königsberg in the province of East Prussia .

Schönbusch, which later made a name for itself with its brewery in the Königsberg beer kingdom , was incorporated into the rural community of Ponarth on October 14, 1893, with which it became the city of Königsberg i. Pr. Came.

Ponarth and Schönbusch came to the Soviet Union with the city of Königsberg in 1945 and in 1946 received the common Russian name "Dimitrowo". From 1947 Dimitrowo belonged as a Kaliningrad district to the Baltic Rajon , which was added to the Moscow Rajon in 2009, which today includes the district south of the Pregel (Russian: Pregolja).

church

In Ponarth, as in Schönbusch, the vast majority of the population was of the Protestant denomination. The Ponarther parish emerged in 1905 from the Haberberg Church , whose third parish was assigned to Ponarth. From then until 1945 Ponarth was its own parish with two parish offices within the Königsberg-Stadt church district (from 1912 "Königsberg City Inspectorate") within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergy were Pastors Gerhard Symanowski and Helmut Hildebrandt . The small village of Schönbusch remained in the parish of Haffstrom (no longer existing place) despite the spatial distance until 1945 and was located in the parish of Königsberg-Land I within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union. The last German clergyman was Pastor Herbert Steinbach .

Today Dimitrowo is located in the catchment area of the Kaliningrad Church of the Resurrection in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
