Dirk Flock (born May 23, 1972 in Cologne ) is a former German soccer player who has been an assistant coach at SC Wiedenbrück since summer 2012 .
Athletic career
Dirk Flock comes from the youth division of 1. FC Köln . Flock's first stop in professional football was in 1992 at the second division club FC Remscheid , where the midfielder was able to establish himself as a regular. After only one year, Flock left the Remscheid team for the Stuttgarter Kickers . Flock was also able to assert himself with the Swabians, so that he moved to the Bundesliga for 1. FC Kaiserslautern just one season later .
Flock never really made a breakthrough in the Bundesliga. He was only used sporadically at FCK, but won the DFB Cup in 1996 with the Palatine team . He then went back to the second division at FC Gütersloh , where he was able to stage himself quite successfully until 1998. The result was a move to Werder Bremen , where Flock was under contract until 2001. He won the DFB Cup with Werder in 1999. Similar to his time in Kaiserslautern, he could not play in the regular team in Bremen.
The next stop in his career was Arminia Bielefeld in 2001 . Here, too, Flock only made a few appearances until 2003 and was then used there towards the end of his contract mainly in Bielefeld's second team in the Oberliga Westfalen . In the 2003/04 season, Flock was without a club, before moving to his old club from Gütersloh in 2004, again in the Oberliga Westfalen, where he was active until 2007. In the 2007/08 season, Flock played for league rivals SC Wiedenbrück 2000 , from where he returned to Gütersloh after one season in the 2008/09 NRW League season. After relegation to the Westphalia League, Flock acted as player-coach for FC Gütersloh 2000 in the 2009/10 season . Until the winter break in 2011 he was still the head coach at FC Gütersloh before the contract was terminated. For the 2012/13 season he was assistant coach at the regional division SC Wiedenbrück .
