Dirk Hellmann (born August 31, 1966 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Dirk Hellmann began his career at SC Herford and was under contract for Arminia Bielefeld from 1984 . The Arminia team played in the Bundesliga and Hellmann was one of four goalkeepers who were used during the 1984/85 season . In addition to regular Wolfgang Kneib, they were Rainer Wilk and Michael Richter . Hellmann was the youngest of the four and played one game, it was the 17th matchday when coach Gerd Roggensack played him over 90 minutes against Bayer Uerdingen . Bielefeld finished third from last in the final table, in the subsequent relegation game 1. FC Saarbrücken prevailed, so that Bielefeld was relegated . By 1988 Hellmann played seven games in the 2nd Bundesliga before Bielefeld was relegated to the third division. Hellmann moved to TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus in 1991 .
