Dixon (civil Steffen Berkhahn * 1975 in Anklam ) is a German House - DJ and - Musicians and A & R and label owner .

Life

As a teenager, Berkhahn played football and strove for a professional career, which he had to give up due to injury.

Under the pseudonym Dixon, he played in Berlin clubs such as the Turbine, the Tresor , the E-Werk and the WMF from the early 1990s . At the WMF he performed together with DJ Mitja Prinz . Through contacts with the producer collective Jazzanova , he came to the Sonar collective sub-label Recreation Recordings , where he worked as an A&R manager and mixed the DJ series Off Limits .

Together with Georg Levin, he founded the Wahoo project in 2004 , which was published on Sonar Kollektiv and Defected, among others.

Together with Kristian Rädle and Frank Wiedemann alias Âme , Dixon founded the Berlin music label Innervisions in 2005 . For the 2009 mix album The Grandfather Paradox and various singles, Dixon worked with the musician Henrik Schwarz and the duo Âme. The four musicians also appear under the project names Innervisions Orchestra and A Critical Mass .

Berkhahn is the second chairman of the Berlin soccer club FC Magnet Mitte and lives with his wife and son in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg .
