Doix is a former French community with 956 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belonged to the Arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the Canton of Fontenay-le-Comte . The inhabitants are called Doixerains . Since January 1, 2016, Doix has merged with the neighboring municipality of Fontaines to form the Commune nouvelle Doix lès Fontaines .
