Doktor Proktors Pupspulver (original title: Doktor Proktors prompepulver ) is a Norwegian film by Arild Fröhlich based on the children's book of the same name by Jo Nesbø . The film opened in Norwegian cinemas on March 14, 2014 and in Germany on January 15, 2015.

The idiosyncratic inventor Dr. Proktor has developed a powder with which flatulence creates an unexpected force. This would allow humans to fly through the air and possibly even send a rocket to the moon. The neighborhood children Lise and Bulle are thrilled! However, the invention also calls for unscrupulous adversaries: the two twins Truls and Trym and their father Mr. Thrane are after the secret formula and pass the invention off as their own. They also plan to introduce Dr. Put Proctor in jail. With the help of Lise and Bulle, Dr. Proctor to fight the thieves.

criticism

The film service thinks that Doctor Proktor's Pupspulver is a “lustful, silly children's film with overflowing ideas and many special effects”, which however “sometimes overworks its crazy basic idea”. In addition, adults are "consistently drawn as inflated caricatures whose role model and protective function is repeatedly questioned".

Awards

The film received a nomination for best children's film at the Norwegian film award Amanda . He also competed for the audience award at the 2014 Chicago International Film Festival .
