The Dom sportova is a multi-purpose hall in the Croatian capital Zagreb . The ice hockey club KHL Medveščak Zagreb from the transnational Austrian ice hockey league (EBEL) plays its games here, next to the Arena Zagreb . The basketball club KK Cedevita also uses the hall.
history
The arena opened on June 17, 1972. It includes, among other things, an ice rink with 6,358 seats, a ball sports hall for 3,100 spectators and other smaller sports halls as well as a fitness studio and a shooting range .
Events
All games of the 1989 European Basketball Championship took place in the arena. From 1996 to 1997 and from 2006 to 2015 the hall was the venue for an ATP tennis tournament . In 2000 the European handball championship stopped in the Zagreb sports arena. In 2003 Dom sportova hosted the women's handball world championship . In 2005 the hall complex was the venue for the European Women's Volleyball Championship . In 2008 and 2013 the European figure skating championships were held in Dom sportova . The 2007 Men's Ice Hockey World Championship Division II (Group A) and the Men's Ice Hockey World Championship Division II (Group A) 2013 were held in the multi-purpose hall.
The Dom sportova also serves as a concert hall for artists and groups.
