Domenico Cancian FAM (born April 6, 1947 in Mareno di Piave ) is an Italian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Città di Castello .

Life

Domenico Cancian joined the Order of the Sons of Merciful Love , made his profession on August 15, 1971 and was ordained a priest on July 18, 1972 . The chapter of the order elected him on July 15, 2004 as a superior general .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 16, 2007 Bishop of Città di Castello . The Archbishop of Florence , Cardinal Ennio Antonelli , donated him episcopal ordination on September 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Pellegrino Tomaso Ronchi OFMCap , former bishop of Città di Castello, and Giovanni Scanavino OESA , bishop of Orvieto-Todi . The inauguration in the diocese of Città di Castello took place on September 23, 2007. As a motto he chose Sicut Dilexi Vos .
