Dominik Hees (born March 3, 1989 in Cologne ) is a German actor and musical performer .

Life

Dominik Hees grew up in Kerpen. He attended high school in Kerpen and graduated from high school in 2008. During his school days he took part in numerous theater performances, concerts and musical productions and learned various instruments.

In autumn 2008 he began his studies at the German Sport University Cologne, but broke it off at the beginning of 2009 and moved to Vienna. In the role of Georg he was part of the premiere cast of the German-language premiere of the musical Spring Awakening in March 2009 . He then took on the title role in the musical Buddy - the Buddy Holly Musical at the Colosseum Theater in Essen .

In October 2010 he made his professional debut in acting. He played Kosinsky in Schiller's Die Räuber at the Klagenfurt City Theater . From December 2010 to February 2012 he played the Rum Tum Tugger in the musical Cats on a European tour, which included guest performances in Hamburg, Berlin, Hanover, Mannheim, Luxembourg, Zurich and Vienna. He then played the role of Jack Driscoll in the Klagenfurt production of King Kong . In the summer of 2012 he played the leading role of Link Larkin in the musical Hairspray at the Deutsches Theater in Munich and in the Zeltpalast Merzig , before returning to the Cats tour as Rum Tum Tugger in September 2012 .

In 2013 he made his debut as Clifford Bradshaw at the Munich Gärtnerplatztheater in Cabaret . Also in 2013, Hees took on the role of Henry in the German-language premiere of Next to Normal at the Stadttheater Fürth . Production resumed in Fürth in 2015 and will be a guest at Vienna's MuseumsQuartier in 2016 . At Theater Magdeburg he played the role of Frank'n'Furter in The Rocky Horror Show at the Domplatz-Open Air 2014 , this production was also resumed in 2015. In the summer of 2014 Dominik Hees appeared again in the Merziger Zeltpalast as Lucas Knieke in the German-language premiere of the musical The Addams Family .

From November 2014 to September 2015 he could be seen in the musical Das Wunder von Bern as Helmut Rahn on the stage of the Theater an der Elbe in Hamburg. In 2016 Hees returned to Munich's Gärtnerplatztheater and took on the role of hippie leader Berger in the musical Hair . In 2016 he took over the role of Lancelot in the musical Artus - Excalibur at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg . From December 2017 to September 2018 he played the role of Charlie Price in Kinky Boots (musical) at the Operettenhaus Hamburg.

In addition to his work as an actor, Dominik Hees is also a regular soloist at gala events and concerts, such as Musical in Concert in Magdeburg, the Whitsun Gala Musical meets Pop in Tecklenburg or the Show Berlin in one go .
