Dominik Schwager

Dominik Schwager (born September 18, 1976 in Munich ) is a German racing driver .

Career

Schwager began his career in karting , from which he switched to German Formula BMW in 1994 . The following year he won this series, whereupon he rose to the German Formula 3 championship, in which he stayed for two years. Thanks to the support of Benneton and BMW, Schwager drove in the international Formula 3000 in 1998.

In 1999 Schwager moved from Europe to Japan for Formula Nippon . In Japan he also made his first experiences with Gran Turismos in the JGTC ( All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship ). Since he was more successful in touring car racing, Schwager switched to the Japanese GT500 series in 2001. While he was still racing in Formula Nippon in 2002 and 2003, Schwager concentrated exclusively on touring car racing from 2003 onwards. Schwager stayed in the GT500 until 2008, but at the same time he also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2005) and the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring.

In 2009 Schwager moved back from Japan to Europe and drove in the LeMans series and in the VLN .

In 2010 and 2011 Schwager started for Münnich Motorsport in the FIA GT1 World Championship . Schwager is currently driving a BMW Z4 GT3 for Schubert Motorsport in the ADAC GT Masters .
