Dominik Sowieja (born December 7, 1991 in Villingen-Schwenningen ) is a German triathlete and German champion cross-duathlon (2014) and duathlon (2016).

Career

In October 2010 he became a member of the triathlon club in Schramberg . In 2012 and 2013 Dominik Sowieja was able to secure the overall victory in the triathlon national league.

German champion cross duathlon 2014

In 2014 he won the championships of the German Triathlon Union (DTU) in the cross duathlon in Östringen .

In May 2015 he won the Trollinger Marathon on the half -marathon distance . In the same year he reached first place in the second triathlon Bundesliga in Tübingen and was athlete of the year in the Schwarzwald Baar district in 2015 and 2016 .

German champion duathlon 2016

In May 2016, Sowieja became German Duathlon Champion. In September he became European champion in the 25-29 age group at the Austrian Walchsee in the triathlon middle distance (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running).

Since 2017 he has been a professional athlete in Ironman 70.3 competitions over the middle distance and in August the 25-year-old finished fifth in Ironman 70.3 Vichy.
