Domplatz 21 in Naumburg (corner house)

The building at Domplatz 21 in Naumburg , a town in the south of Saxony-Anhalt and the administrative seat of the Burgenland district , is a protected architectural monument .

history

In the 16th century, the cathedral monastery sold the curia as a free house to the cathedral dean Christoph von Etzdorff . In 1724, the master builder of the cathedral monastery, Johann Christoph Licht, acquired the property after the house was destroyed by the fire of 1714 and had a new building built on the foundations of the previous building, which bears his initials in the cartouche of the portal.

description

The two-storey baroque building with a gable roof and dormers is structured by pilasters and smooth window frames. The central axis on the long side forms a drilled portal with segmental arch roofing and a plastered mirror. The central axis includes an outside staircase and the dormer window with a round arched gable. The side gate was added later.

The courtyard building, also from the 18th century, consists of a three-storey garden house with an open gallery on the ground floor and a hipped roof . This auxiliary building is connected to the main building by a closed arcade supported by four columns and structured with wooden pilasters.

Furnishing

The magnificent stucco ceiling on the ground floor, doors with fittings , window frames and the stairwells are from the time it was built.
