The building at Donaustraße 56 in Oberndorf , a district of the municipality of Bad Abbach in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim , was opened in the 13th and 14th centuries. Century erected. The former farmhouse is a protected architectural monument .

The elongated building is oriented with the eaves side facing south towards Donaustraße. The former stable house with a flat gable roof was built using the Jura building method . The two-storey building was extended around 1400. A remodeling or reconstruction took place in 1553. The roof was renewed in 1762 and another phase of reconstruction around 1800. The extension around the barn dates from 1840. The entrance is around 80 cm below street level, which has become higher over the centuries. The oldest parts of the building are dated to around 1150.

The building, which was extensively renovated at the end of the 2000s, is one of the oldest known farmhouses in Bavaria.

In 2010, Franziska and Alois Schröppel received the Monument Protection Medal of the Free State of Bavaria for the exemplary renovation of the monument.

Maria and Peter Schreyer, Christa Berghammer and Franziska and Alois Schröppel were jointly awarded the Lower Bavaria District Monument Prize in 2010 for the exemplary restoration of the three listed Jura houses Donaustraße 38 , Donaustraße 52 and Donaustraße 56 in Oberndorf .
