US presidential election 2016

In the context of the primary campaign for the 2016 US presidential election , Brazile was accused of supporting Hillary Clinton against her competitor Bernie Sanders . WikiLeaks posted emails in which Brazile pre-sented Hillary Clintons campaign notice of questions that would be raised in debates. As Brazile wrote in an email on October 11, 2016, as a CNN employee, she had early insight into questions. In that email, Brazile discussed a question on the death penalty that Clinton was asked in a similar fashion the next day at a debate organized by CNN.

Jake Tapper , a former colleague from Brazile at CNN , called this behavior "very worrying" and from a journalistic point of view "appalling". CNN then ended the collaboration with Brazile.
