Donna Hartley
Donna-Marie Louise Hartley , née Donna Murray , later Donna Hartley-Wass , (born May 1, 1955 in Southampton , † June 7, 2013 in Yorkshire ) was a British athlete .
The sprinter reached the semi-finals at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich over 200 m . In 1976 she came at the Olympic Games in Montreal over 400 m in the quarter-finals and took seventh place with the British team in the 4 x 400 meter relay .
In 1978 she won for England starting at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton both over 400 m as well as in the 4-by-400-meter relay. At the European Athletics Championships, which took place shortly afterwards, in Prague , a sixth place over 400 m and a fourth place in the relay followed.
At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, she was part of the British quartet that won bronze in the 4 x 400 meter relay.
In 1977 she married her sprinter colleague Bill Hartley , the couple separated again after a short time. In 1987 she married the actor Robert Wass, better known by his stage name Bobby Knutt, and began a career as a bodybuilder under the name Donna Hartley-Wass . In 1979 she was accepted as a member of the Order of the British Empire .
