Elbisbach village church
The Protestant village church of Elbisbach is a baroque hall church in the Elbisbach district of Frohburg in the Leipzig district in Saxony . It belongs to the parish Elbisbach in the parish Frohburg of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony .
History and architecture
The simple hall church in Elbisbach was built in the second quarter of the 18th century as a plastered building with a choir closed on three sides . The west tower is closed with a curved hood with a lantern . The inside is covered by a wooden ceiling with double, multiple broken stucco profiles.
The cemetery is surrounded by the remains of a defensive wall in which several loopholes have been preserved. The baroque portal is provided with a curved gable and spherical decorations.
Furnishing
The baroque furnishings come from the time it was built. The magnificently marbled and gilded pulpit altar is structured with Corinthian pilasters and shows a glory of rays and vase attachments above the cornice . The pulpit is decorated with acanthus . Laterally, the Lord's Supper passages are arranged with cartridges . The large octagonal wooden baptism with rich jewelry in a curved shape is also equipped with acanthus jewelry.
organ
The organ is a work by Johann Ephraim Hübner from 1758 with 12 stops on a manual and pedal . Several repairs and changes have survived. In 1795 cleaning was carried out, the bellows were repaired and a pedal coupling was installed. In 1917 the prospect pipes were given up for armament purposes. In 1921 it was cleaned by Alfred Schmeisser . In the following year, the Schmidt & Berger company from Borna installed prospect pipes made of zinc. No further repairs are known. The disposition is:
