Church in grove

The Protestant village church Hain is located in the Hain district of the Kleinfurra community in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .

history

The Romanesque choir tower and hall church dates from the 13th century. A large part of the original substance has been preserved.

Consisting of natural stones existing church is divided into three buildings: the nave , choir and semicircular apse . The upper floor of the tower was built in half-timbered style. The nave has a gable roof and the steeple is covered with a hipped roof. The apse stands out with its arched windows . Two-sided circumferential galleries fill the hall, which is spanned by a wooden barrel ceiling. The pulpit dates from the Renaissance and a high triumphal arch with fighters opens the view to the choir, the ground floor of which is spanned with a round arched groin vault.

The Romanesque font is considered the oldest in this area.

Construction work after the fall of the Wall

Funding was made available through the KIBA Foundation for 2013 so that the roof , the tower and the interior could be renovated. The bell cage was separated from the tower structure and eaves and roof connections were made.
