history

The structure was erected in 1698. In the years 1815 to 1818 the parish had a west tower added. An extensive renovation took place in 1964 and 1965. Renovation work on the church began in September 2018. Among other things, the tower room is to be prepared for “tourist use” and defects in the structure are to be eliminated. The costs are estimated at € 238,000.

Building description

West tower

The church was built from half-timbering , which was then plastered flat . The choir has not moved in and has a five-eighth closing . While the end of the choir and the north and south walls are windowless, there is a segment-arched window on each of the two remaining wall surfaces, the shape of which is emphasized by a narrow bezel . At the transition to the roof is a circumferential haunch .

The nave has a rectangular floor plan. On the north side there are four large, segment-arched windows with a buttress in between . The craftsmen also installed four windows on the south side. Of these, however, only the two windows to the east and the window to the west are in their original position. The remaining fourth window was moved closer to the west window during renovation work. The craftsmen thus created space for a small, rectangular vestibule. It can be entered from the south through a double-leaf door. The ship and annex have a simple saddle roof covered with beaver tail .

The west tower is slightly drawn in opposite the ship, but looks comparatively powerful due to its massive, square substructure. On the west side is a pointed arch-shaped portal with multiple steps, which is accompanied by pilaster strips on the side . Above it is an ox-eye in the gable . The north and south sides are divided into three fields, of which the middle one is made significantly larger. There is an ogival aperture there . A gable roof rises above from which the octagonal tower tower protrudes. It has a small, ogival window on the north and south sides. Above each are two surrounding cornices . Above, on each side, there is an ogival panel in which two coupled and also ogival arcades are embedded. Above it is a circular tower clock with a white face. Above the tower clocks there is a further, circumferential cove that creates the transition to the pointed and octagonal tower spire , which ends with a tower ball and cross.

Furnishing

The altarpiece is from the beginning of the 18th century and originally served as a pulpit altar . The parish placed a painting in place of the pulpit, which in turn comes from another altar. In the predella the Lord's Supper is depicted; in the altar excerpt Agnus Dei . The reredos are decorated with columns, ears of corn, vine leaves and acanthus . The polygonal pulpit probably dates from 1698. It was placed on a flat base in 1964 and shows painted representations of the evangelists in its fields .

The inside of the structure is flat covered.
