history

The construction time of the previous church is unknown. The single-nave church was built in 1685 with a rectangular floor plan. In 1717 the nave was raised for a third gallery and the church tower was added on the east side. Above the nave, the tower becomes octagonal and ends with the tail hood and lantern .

The building material of the desert church

The building material comes from the desolate church in the deserted village of Oylersdorf . During the work, the masons found the 1522 bell of the desert village. It now hangs in the church tower in Ruttersdorf.

Church hall

The church hall has three-sided two-story galleries . The organ was created by Justinus Ehrenfried Gerhard from Lindig in 1765 . There is a pulpit altar by the Eisenberg sculptor Johann Schellenberger in the choir . On the side consoles carved figures depict Jesus Christ and John the Baptist . The risen Christ surrounded by putti crowns the pulpit altar. The baptismal font is carved from sandstone with the inscription "1693".

The bell from 1522 found was later supported by two bells. These were melted down in World War I and then the replacement in World War II .
