The village church Lübbenau is the Evangelical Church of the municipality Unterspreewald belonging hamlet Lübbenau in Brandenburg .

architecture

The church was built in 1939 according to plans by an employee of the church building department of the Berlin Evangelical Consistory . The roof shape of the nave , which was modeled on a boat lying upside down, is striking . High windows structure the central nave of the church. To the west of the ship there is a four-story church tower on a square floor plan. The sacristy is built to the south of the church, and to the west is a rectangular building that is used as a community room.

Interior design

The ceiling of the nave consists of a vaulted ceiling made of boards that converges to a point in the middle. There is a gallery on three sides. The altar with a high crucifix by an unknown artist stands in the semicircular apse . There are also five colorful, lead-glazed windows that represent motifs from the Apostles' Creed . The windows were created by August Wagner from Berlin based on designs by Adolf Becker . In the lower part of the middle window there is a reference to the founder of the window: Donated by the Berlin City Synod and the Association of Protestant Churches in the Reich capital Berlin. President Zimmermann .

In the north-eastern part of the church, in front of the arch to the apse, is the pulpit from the time the church was built. The organ on the west gallery also dates from 1939 and was created by the master organ builder Gustav Heinze from Sorau . The organ has two manuals, a pedal and 16 stops .
