Village church in Rädigke

The Protestant village church Rädigke is a field stone church in the district Rädigke of the municipality Rabenstein / Fläming in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark in the state of Brandenburg .

history

The exact construction date of the church is not known. Based on the execution, experts assume that the building was built in the last quarter of the 12th century or in the first quarter of the 13th century. The Dehio manual gives the first half of the 13th century as the period of construction. The builders were Flemish settlers who were looking for a building site close to a castle complex, which was destroyed during the Hussite Wars . The first documented mention of the church comes from the year 1450. In 1841 the parish bought an organ from Gottfried Wilhelm Baer . In 1858 she renovated the interior. In 1903 bricklayers enlarged the south-facing windows and framed them - like the windows on the north side - with bricks . At the same time, they renovated the western wall and built the church tower . In 1965 the interior was renovated.

architecture

The structure was built from largely evenly layered and partially hewn field stones . The stratification between the windows is partly irregular. Theo Engeser and Konstanze Stehr give the nave dimensions of 17.70 meters and a width of 8.80 meters. This is followed by the retracted apse with a width of 7.40 meters and a vault of 3.70 meters.

On the north side of the nave there is a priest's gate in the eastern area and a walled-up, arched community gate in the western area. There is a black cross in it in 2015. Above the gates there are a total of four arched windows that are largely framed with field stones. On the south side there are also four, significantly larger, also arched windows, of which the one to the west is again significantly enlarged and drawn down deeper. They are bordered with masonry bricks. The five windows in the apse probably date from the construction period, but were also framed with bricks at a later date. The west gable is also made of red bricks and has several ogival panels . This is followed by a timber-framed tower . It is clad with red roof tiles, which are broken through on four sides by an ogival arcade of sound . This is followed by the roof with a button, wind vane and cross. The saddle roof of the nave and the half-conical roof of the apse are covered with beaver tail .

Furnishing

The interior has a flat, wooden ceiling. A conspicuous arch-shaped triumphal arch , which cannot be seen from the outside. The wooden altarpiece shows the Lord's Supper , is framed by pillars and dates from 1690. The pulpit , which is also wooden , was dated to 1703 and was restored in 1969. It consists of a polygonal basket with corner columns and is based on a coiled column. There is also a 15th century cross. In the nave there is a north and a west gallery from the time the church was built.
