Rolofshagen village church
The village church of Rolofshagen is a village church in the Rolofshagen district of the West Pomeranian municipality of Papenhagen , which has only survived as a ruin .
history
Rolofshagen was settled in 1223. Rolofshagen (named Roleveshagen in 1273) was built on the former Slavic Wallberg. After the Neuenkamp monastery was founded , the monks built a church next to the Slavic fortification in Rolofshagen around 1300.
Since 1987 the church has only been preserved as a ruin (outer walls and sacristy ); In 1986 it collapsed due to a lack of roof renovation. It was structurally secured in May 2007 and is used as a cultural site. Services are regularly held in the sacristy.
layout
The church had a two-bay field stone hall with a northern sacristy. Some components are made of brick , such as the richly structured gable with slender, staggered panels with triangular connections.
The pointed arch windows have a sloping reveal and tracery from the 19th century. There is a pointed arched step portal on the south side. The simpler north portal has been clogged, the west portal has been renewed with stepped walls. On the north-west side there is a rectangular stair tower. The decoratively tiled half-timbered gable of the restored sacristy dates from 1656.
There is a wooden bell tower in the churchyard.
Furnishing
The nave had a ribbed vault . In the choir there is a sacrament niche with a medieval wooden door. The adjoining sacristy has a rib-less dome.
Peal
Only the middle bronze bell with the inscription "Mich has poured Joh. Gottfried Wosaeck in Stralsund in the year 1744" remained of the former triple bell due to confiscations from 1917 due to the war. After its repair, it was put back into service on June 11, 2006.
