Architecture and history

It was built between 1732 and 1734 by Christian and Johann Christian Trothe on behalf of Friedrich Dieterich von Trotha . A baroque hall was built on a rectangular floor plan . The church tower is on the west side and is slightly drawn into the nave . The floor plan of the tower is square. In the upper part, however, the church tower is octagonal, crowned by a dome. The tower is open to the nave with a large round arch.

On the south side there is a portal in a flat risalit . Above the portal there is a triangular gable, which is crowned by a Fides figure. A two-story extension was added on the north side of the church. The sacristy is on the ground floor and the mansion's box on the upper floor. The carved prospectus of the manorial box is dated to the year 1734. The box itself is provided with delicately crafted, linear stucco elements.

The nave is spanned by a barrel vault. There is a horseshoe gallery that swings out on the west side of the ship. The carved high pulpit altar was created by the Trothes at the time of construction. It has side passages and is decorated with curved ornaments. To the south of the pulpit altar is a barred bed stand , above the door of which there is a carved essay. The wooden baptism with a lectern attachment is also from the construction period. The altar itself is also carved, but dates back to around 1510. In the shrine of the altar there are Mary with child and bishop. Saints Catherine and Mary Magdalene are depicted in the wings. Images of John the Evangelist and Saint Beatus are on the outside. A restoration took place in 1931.

Also from the beginning of the 16th century comes one in a shrine located Pietà .

The organ front of the church dates from 1734.

In the church there is a wall grave of the builder of the church, Friedrich Dieterich von Trotha, who died in 1740. It is believed that Johann Christian Trothe created the tomb. The tomb is made of sandstone and marble . It is richly decorated with figural alabaster jewelry . In the middle part of the tomb there is an inscription tablet surrounded by an ancestral specimen. Figures of justice and immortality are arranged around the table. Including a head of Chronos with wings . Above is a coat of arms and a vase, both flanked by the geniuses of death.

In addition, there are epitaphs of the von Hünicke family from 1642, 1659 and 1679. Some of them are made of wood in the shape of a shield. Another epitaph exists for Christoph Georg von Hünicke, who died in 1679, and is made of alabaster and provided with ancestral coats of arms and angels. A wooden epitaph decorated with carvings commemorates Henning von Natzmer, who died in 1695. It is provided with martial-looking attributes.
