history
The village church , built in the 12th century, is located in the cemetery . The cemetery is accessible through an arched gate. The church is a hall with an adjoining chancel .
Evidence of the Middle Ages is the crucifix on the altar and the four altar figures Maria, Bonifatius, George and a female figure.
An illegible cartouche on the tower side reports on construction work in 1734, as well as dates on the weather vane and the underside of the pulpit . This year the church was redesigned inside and out in a Baroque style: rectangular windows on the nave were installed, as well as the vaulted ceiling barrel , a flat wooden ceiling in the chancel , the galleries and the pulpit wall. The tower received a lantern with a tailed dome as a helmet .
In 1708 the nave received a carved flower wreath for the song board . The work of art stone tablet was donated by Heinrich Lober and Superintendent Anna Lorbern in 1682 with the following inscription: "Whoever believes and is baptized will be blessed, but whoever does not believe will be condemned (imprisoned)"
In 1887, court organ builder Adam Eifert from Stadtilm built the organ ; in the same year the interior was renovated.
