The church

The listed Lutheran village church Schwarzenbach is in the district Schwarzenbach the community Auengrund in Hildburghausen in Thuringia .

The foundation walls of a Gothic pilgrimage chapel from the 13th century now form the choir of the village church . In 1517 the small chapel was enlarged and renewed again in 1580.

The floor plan with the nave and choir with a steeple is added by a sacristy . Since it was built, it has also received other additions. Today the winter church is located in the south side of the nave on the first gallery . There was the box of the Marschallin von Herrengosserstedt.

The organ from 1880 is the work of the organ builder Ferdinand Möller from Schmiedefeld.

Johann Adam Rückert, the father of the poet and orientalist Friedrich Rückert , was baptized in the church.
