On January 10, 1721, Schwarzbach was granted the right to drink and brew after the brewery of the castle brewery had been founded. During the German War of 1866, the brewery supplied the Bavarian army, so Bavaria and Prussia occasionally drank beer together in Schwarzbach. This formed the material for the comedy Olviretki Schleusingenissa ( Eng . "Beer trip to Schleusingen") by the Finnish national poet Aleksis Kivi .
