The Dorfspatzen Oberägeri are a Swiss brass band from Oberägeri in the canton of Zug in Switzerland. The brass band offers traditional brass and light music with show effects.

history

The brass band was founded in 1971. The first musical director was Jakob Farner for 15 years, in 1988 he was replaced by the musician Ivo Huonder from Oberäger. From 2002, the younger formation Dorfspatzen Oberägeri appeared under the conductor Marco Müller. Markus Steimen has been in charge of Dorfspatzen Oberägeri since May 2011. The band consists of 15 wind instruments, a singer and the conductor. A stage crew and a sound engineer complete the Dorfspatzen team.

The formation plays a wide repertoire of popular music, which includes marches , polka , waltzes and pop / rock. The formation usually appears at their concerts with an entertainment block of music and show.
