Doris Grimm

Doris Grimm (* 1925 in Braunschweig ; † June 7, 2007 in Hanover ) was a German pharmacist and specialist author.

Career

Grimm was born in Braunschweig in 1925. As the youngest of her class, she graduated from high school in March 1943. A year later she began her pharmaceutical training as a pharmacist intern. After the preliminary pharmaceutical examination in 1946 and her studies at the Technical University of Braunschweig , she received her license to practice medicine in 1950 .

From 1968 she taught specialist courses for pharmacy assistants and also worked on the framework plan for pharmacy assistants at the Federal Minister for Science and Research . She was also active in the “Curriculum for the Occupational Health” working group. Due to the experience she gained from this project, she worked in the Federal Chamber of Pharmacists and from 1975 was chair of the examination board for the assistant examination in the Lower Saxony Chamber of Pharmacists. In 1969, Doris Grimm, as co-author of the first syllabus for pharmaceutical-technical assistants, played a key role in the introduction of this new profession. From 1970 to 2000 she was editor-in-chief of the magazine PTA in der Apotheke . From 1970 Grimm was chairman of the vocational training committee and since 1974 a member of the chamber assembly and the committee for vocational training and further education of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Pharmacists . In 1986 she was awarded the Lesmüller Medal for her exceptional achievements in training young professionals . This was presented to her by the former Federal Minister of Health Rita Süssmuth . After Magdalena Neff, Doris Grimm is the second woman to receive the highest award from the Federal Chamber of Pharmacists. She had lectureships at the University of Osnabrück for health sciences and at the TU Braunschweig for pharmacy .
