Doris Schmitt-Landsiedel

Doris Schmitt-Landsiedel (born December 13, 1952 ) is a German electrical engineer . She was a professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and a member of the Supervisory Board of Infineon Technologies AG.

Life

Schmitt-Landsiedel completed her studies in electrical engineering in 1977 as a graduate engineer at the University of Karlsruhe and her studies in physics in 1980 as a graduate physicist at the University of Freiburg . In 1984 she did her doctorate at the Technical University of Munich on the subject of "Physically limiting parameters in transistor miniaturization: thin oxides and hot electrons". From 1981 to 1996 she was an employee and head of a research sector in Central Research and Development at Siemens AG . From 1996 to 2016 she held the chair for technical electronics at the Technical University of Munich.

Doris Schmitt-Landsiedel has two grown children.

Scientific work

Schmitt-Landsiedel's research topics are in the area of ​​the interaction of electronic components and integrated circuits , such as B. circuits with low power loss with high yield and reliability, despite increasing fluctuations and degradation effects in new CMOS technologies. She has published more than 300 scientific papers. She is also the inventor or co-inventor of more than 50 patents and patent applications. She is co-editor of the Springer Series in Advanced Microelectronics .

Schmitt-Landsiedel was a member of the Senate of the German Research Foundation and the German Academy of Science and Engineering acatech until 2014 . From 2005 to 2016 she was a member of the Supervisory Board of Infineon Technologies AG. From 2004 to 2010 she was a member of the Science Council . As a member of the boards of trustees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Modular Solid State Technologies, she is a member of the Fraunhofer Society . Since 2010 she has been a member of the board of trustees of the Deutsches Museum in Munich. From 2000 to 2008 she was a member of the University Council of the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich and has been a member of the University Council of the University of Applied Sciences - Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences since October 1, 2011 .
