Dorothea Maroske

Dorothea Maroske (born February 26, 1951 in Stepenitz ) is a German sculptor .

Life

During and after attending school in Wittstock / Dosse with her Abitur in 1970, Dorothea Maroske studied from 1969 to 1975 at the Dresden University of Fine Arts with professors Gerd Jaeger and Helmut Heintze . Until 1990 she was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR , and since 1990 she has been a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Artists' Association . From 1996 to 1998 Dorothea Maroske was a lecturer at the graphic design school in Anklam . In Dorothea Maroske's work, the female figure, who is often clad in a robe, dominates.

Maroske has lived and worked in Lichtenberg , a district of the Feldberger Seenlandschaft municipality, since 1982 . She is married to the sculptor and graphic artist Uwe Maroske, the couple has two daughters.
