Doug Hemphill

Doug Hemphill (* 1955 ), also listed under DM Hemphill , DP Hemphill , Doug M. Hemphill , Douglas Hemphill , is an American sound engineer and engineer .

Life

Hemphill's first appearance in film was in 1979 in the Oscar-winning war film drama Apocalypse Now , where he was responsible for the sound at the mixer. After he was involved in many film productions in the years that followed, the Internet Movie Database lists the films Die Schadenfreude - A Good Day to Die and Percy Jackson - In the Bann des Cyclops for 2013 and the films Die Schadenfreundinnen and X for 2014 -Men: The future is in the past , where he was responsible for the sound mix as DM Hemphill.

For the literary film adaptation of the novel by James Fenimore Cooper The Last of the Mohicans (1992) Hemphill contributed the sound alongside his colleagues Chris Jenkins, Mark Smith and Simon Kaye. In 1993 they were honored with an Oscar for this achievement in the “Best Sound” category. The film received numerous other awards.
