Keith A. Wester

Keith Albert Wester (born February 21, 1940 in Seattle , Washington, † November 1, 2002 in Studio City , California) was an American sound engineer.

Act

After completing his bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles and his master's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA for short). Wester began his work as a sound engineer in the field of advertising films. Before moving into the film business in 1966, Wester worked on over 2,500 commercials . In 1966 he not only appeared as an actor in the film "Rat Pfink a Boo Boo", but was also responsible for editing and sound. In the following films such as “Angels from Hell” or “The Photographer”, Wester concentrated only on the sound technology. At the beginning of the 1980s, Wester was primarily active in the television sector for series and television films such as " Spenser " or " Early Frost - A Case of Aids " as a sound engineer until he returned to the cinema in the late 1980s. One of his last works was the 2003 film "Born 2 Die".

Life

Wester was married twice. From his divorced first marriage to Judith Wells, he has a daughter named Wendy. He was married to Joan Bursler for the second time until his death from cancer.

Awards

Wester has been nominated for an Oscar six times in the course of his career , including for films such as " Armageddon " and " The Storm ". He also won an Emmy for his work on the television film "Early Frost - A Case of AIDS". He was also nominated four times for a Cinema Audio Society Award and once for a BAFTA award.
