KGet download manager

A download manager or web grabber is a program used to download resources (e.g. files or web pages ) from the Internet .

It usually offers a number of functions that go beyond the download functions of web browsers . The range of functions usually includes:

• resuming interrupted downloads ,
• the possibility of downloading complete websites with images as well as complete websites (see also offline browser ),
• a scheduler for planning or automating download starts,
• adding multiple sources of the same file so that more connections can be opened and possibly the available data rate can be better used when parts of the same file are downloaded from different servers,
• creating a download list, i.e. a list with links to specific files.
• defining a certain download priority, which regulates the data rate available so that other activities on the Internet, e.g. B. surfing or sending / receiving e-mails remain possible without significant restrictions

Some download managers also have a so-called batch download function, which makes it possible to download a large number of similar files with little effort. B. are numbered consecutively.
