Draginja Dorpat

Draginja Dorpat ( pseudonym for Sophia Ruth Knaak , also: Sophie Ruth Knaak ; born September 21, 1931 in Ravensburg ) is a German writer .

Life

Draginja Dorpat grew up on Lake Constance . She put in Göppingen the matriculation examination , and then studied political science , philosophy and history at the University of Tübingen , where she also as a research assistant worked. After dropping out of college in 1958, she published the novel Elbow Games in the 1960s . With this book, a moral painting from the Tübingen student milieu, the author achieved a considerable sales success; However, due to its relative freedom of movement, the work was put on the list of writings harmful to young people by the Federal Testing Office .

Draginja Dorpat has written articles for newspapers. After living in Reutlingen for a long time , she now lives in the Swabian Alb . In the 1990s the author published two books on health topics and in 2003 an autobiographical novel about the early post-war years .
