Dragon Hero (English Dragon Fist , alternatively In Eagle Dragon Fist ) is a martial arts film with Jackie Chan, produced in Hong Kong in 1978 .
action
Tang How Yuen is a student of the Dragon Fist sect. When his master is killed, he sets out to avenge him. When he found the murderer, however, he had already cut off his own leg out of remorse and because his wife had committed suicide out of shame before his act. Tang then spares him and becomes friends with him. When the warlord Wei poisons his old master's wife, Tang looks for new allies and fights against Wei. In the end he can defeat him.
criticism
“Early and therefore not very funny Jackie Chan film, the director of which also made Bruce Lee's first successful films. The film is one of a series of rather unsuccessful attempts to make Chan the successor to Lee. "
This and that
- The film tries to build a bridge between kung fu comedy and revenge film, but this was not appreciated by the audience. The film flopped at the box office, but critics consider Dragon Hero one of Lo Weis' better films.
- During the shooting of this film, Lo Wei ran out of money for it and for completing the previously made film Masters of All Classes 2 . As a result, both films came to theaters late and only after The Snake in the Shadow of the Eagle .
