The Drama is a small river in Upper Silesia. The 22 km long river runs west of the Upper Silesian industrial area . In addition to the small town of Pyskowice (Peiskretscham), it mostly flows through a scenic area and forest areas. Its natural mouth was on the Klodnitz , a tributary of the Oder . As a result of the redesign of the landscape and the waters in its mouth in the middle of the 20th century, it now flows into the Gliwice Canal. With the division of Upper Silesia, the Drama was located in the border area between Prussia and Poland .

Mouth hole of the Tiefen Friedrichstollen

The drama originates in the urban area of Tarnowskie Góry (Tarnowitz), near the district Repty Śląskie (Repten). Even in the urban area, it is fed by water from a mouth hole in the Tiefen Friedrichstollen , which brings water from the underground to the surface. The mouth hole is sometimes referred to as the source of drama, but it is entirely man-made. From there, the Drama flows in a south-westerly direction to the mouth and passes the municipality of Zbrosławice (Broslawitz). First it flows along the place Zbrosławice and past the two places Kaminiec (Kamienietz) and Karchowice (Karchowitz).

It then flows through the city of Pyskowice. There the Drama owns a valley that is completely undeveloped and divides the city into a northern and a southern part. The city park was laid out on a small part of the valley next to the old town to the north. To the west of Pyskowice the river is dammed up to the small Dzierżno reservoir. The drama exits again at its western edge and flows a short distance into the Gliwice Canal.

Cultural

In the poem entitled "The Drama - Flüßchen in Oberschlesien" the river was immortalized in literary terms by the poet Moritz Graf von Strachwitz (1822–1847).
