Repty Śląskie (German: Repten ) is a district of the Upper Silesian city of Tarnowskie Góry (Tarnowitz) in the powiat Tarnogórski (Tarnowitz district) in the Polish Voivodeship of Silesia . Under Repty is the Friedrichstollen deep .

history

The place was first mentioned on August 12, 1201 and is therefore the oldest in today's urban area. At that time it belonged to the Norbertine monastery in Breslau. 1326 the first known pastor of the place Rept with the name Vitoslaus was mentioned in the Peterspfennigregister of the year 1326 in the deanery Sławków (from 1331 Bytom / Beuthen, in the 15th century Sławków alias Bytom) of the diocese Kraków .

The place is located on the western edge of the sub-area of Upper Silesia , which until 1177/1178 belonged to Lesser Poland or to the Duchy of Krakow and then came to the Duchy of Ratibor , which was ruled by the Silesian Piasts . It was from this time that it belonged to the diocese of Krakow until 1821 (then to the diocese of Breslau ).

The Duchy of Opole-Ratibor was divided in 1281 after the death of Wladislaus I von Opole and in the end Repty was in the Duchy of Bytom . In the later 15th century, during the Hungarian-Bohemian War, the area was occupied by Matthias Corvinus . At that time, the Duchy of Opole expanded again under John II , the last male descendant from the Opole branch of the Silesian Piasts .

After the death of King Ludwig II , the crown of Bohemia and with it Silesia came to the Habsburgs in 1526 . They were sovereigns of Silesia in their capacity as kings of Bohemia. After the First Silesian War and the preliminary peace of Breslau , Mikulczyce and most of Silesia fell to Prussia .

In the 15th and 16th centuries the place was owned by the Wrochem family and in the 17th century by a lord Ibram. In 1748 the colony Neu Repten was established east of Repten and from then on the place was called Alt Repten. In 1824, Alt Repten came into the possession of the Henckel von Donnersmarck family from Neudeck .

After the referendum in Upper Silesia in 1921, Old Repten and New Repten came to Poland and became part of the Silesian Voivodeship . The locations were renamed Repty Stare and Repty Nowe . In 1945 the castle burned out. From 1945 to 1954, Repty Stare was the seat of the Repty Stare community. From 1966 to 1968 the castle ruins were finally torn down.

1973 Repty Stare and Repty Nowe were incorporated into the city of Tarnowskie Góry. Today both places form the common district of Repty.
