history

Zeitlofs has been its own parish since 1453. Previously it was a branch of the parish of Neuengronau. In 1553 Neidhard II von Thüngen introduced the Reformation in Zeitlofs . The parish church was built between 1737 and 1740. It was originally called the Trinity Church. In the 1970s it was mistakenly named Dreifaltigkeitskirche. For the 275th anniversary it was given back its old name.

description

The choir of the church is in the east. The church tower with a Welscher dome is built to the west in the central axis of the nave . The gallery in the nave extends over the western and northern walls. It ends in the manor's box on the north side. The organ is placed in the western part of the gallery. The nave has a stucco ceiling with paintings. The furnishings of the church, in particular the pulpit and the baptismal font , date from the construction period. The life-size tomb of Johann Karl von Thüngen † 1709 is located in the church.
