Trinity (sculpture)
The sculpture Dreheit is the work of the German sculptor couple Matschinsky-Denninghoff . The sculpture is located on the grounds of the Berlinische Galerie in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg . The work is part of an eleven-part exhibition entitled Art - City - Space at the Berlinische Galerie, which can be seen in public space.
construction
The work from 1993 consists of three columns made of chrome-nickel steel . It has the dimensions 600 × 300 × 300 cm. The sculpture was acquired in 2000 with funds from the Stiftung Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin.
symbolism
The works of the artist couple are created from welded steel pipes. This allows you to design the sculptures very flexibly and freely in the room according to your ideas. At first glance, Dreheit is reminiscent of a group of trees that create a play of colors in the changing light on the narrow area of the gallery. At the same time, however, they also commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth on Mount Golgotha here - in a former Jewish settlement area . (Source?)
