Drone is a German metal band from Celle .
Band history
Drone was founded in 2004 in Celle . In January 2006, was Demo - EP Octane published. In the same year they won the "Wacken Metal Battle 2006" of the Wacken Open Air . They also reached the West German final of the Emergenza 2006. Drone was the opening act for Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and Korpiklaani . In February 2007, the debut album Head-on Collision was released on Armageddon Records. In October 2007 Drone went on a three-week European tour with the Finnish bands Norther and Amoral . Her album Juggernaut was released in March 2009 . The official CD release took place on April 25th, 2009 in the CD barracks in Celle. At the beginning of April 2009 they went on tour in Germany with Ektomorf , Debauchery and Aggressive Fear . They continued to tour with Overkill and Pro-Pain . In May 2015 the band played an extensive European tour with Arch Enemy and Unearth .
Music genre
Drone play a mixture of Thrash Metal , Groove Metal , Death Metal and Metalcore . Fear Factory , Machine Head and Pantera serve as role models . The band itself describes their music as "101% sex metal".
