Dulce is a settlement on a community-free area, which is listed as a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes . It is situated in Rio Arriba County in northern US -amerikanischen state of New Mexico . In 2010 Dulce had 2743 inhabitants.

Dulce, is called Lóosi by the Jicarilla Apache who settle here and is the main town and administrative seat of the Jicarilla Apache reservation and therefore has a clear Indian majority.

Dulce is located at 36 ° 56'22 "north latitude and 106 ° 59'23" west longitude and extends over 33.5 km². The place is about two kilometers south of the border with Colorado on the Navajo River , a tributary of the San Juan River, which flows into the Colorado River .

Neighboring towns to Dulce are Pagosa Springs in Colorado (59.9 km north) and Chama (43.4 km east).

The closest major cities are New Mexico's capital Santa Fe (211 km southeast), Albuquerque (274 km south) and Denver (520 km northeast)

US Highway 64 runs through Dulce and runs from the western border of New Mexico to Santa Fe and from there further east. There are also a number of subordinate roads as well as inner-city connecting roads.

According to the 2010 census , Dulce had 2,743 people in 880 households. The population density was 81.9 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 3.05 people lived in each of the 880 households.

The racial the population was composed of 91.7 percent Native American, 4.2 percent white, 0.6 percent African American, 0.1 percent (three people) Asian and 1.9 percent from other ethnic groups; 1.6 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 11.0 percent of the population regardless of ethnicity.

32.1 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 60.4 percent were between 18 and 64 and 7.5 percent were 65 years or older. 50.7 percent of the population was female.
