Dunnigan Hills AVA (recognized since May 13, 1993) is a wine-growing region in the US state of California . The area extends to the northwest of the administrative area of Yolo County . The climate can be compared to that of the Mediterranean and this is also reflected in the choice of grape varieties . The largest winery in the Protected Designation of Origin is RH Phillips with its 526 hectares (1,300 acres).
