biography

Dustin Cook contested his first FIS races in December 2004. After winning the first FIS races in March 2006, he has been competing in the Nor-Am Cup since the 2006/2007 season . From 2007 to 2009 he took part in three Junior World Championships and achieved ninth place in the downhill 2009 as the best result . In the first few years in the Nor-Am Cup, Cook suffered a lot of failures and only rarely made it into the top 20. In the winter of 2008/09 his results improved noticeably. In the disciplines of slalom, giant slalom and Super-G, he reached eight top 10 placings and with third place in the giant slalom of Panorama on December 17, 2008, he was on the podium of the top three for the first time. In the overall standings he made a big leap forward and finished eighth, as well as being among the top ten in the Super G and giant slalom for the first time.

Cook was very consistent in the 2009/10 Nor-Am Cup season . Last winter he failed in every third competition, he now finished almost all races and, with one exception, was always among the fastest 20. In all disciplines, except for slalom, he was in the top 10 and a total of eleven times in the top three in five races. He celebrated his only victory on December 17, 2009 in the Super-G of Panorama. Thanks to his consistency, Dustin Cook beat US-American Will Brandenburg , who won four races of the season but dropped out significantly more often, by just under two points and won the Nor-Am Cup, giving him a World Cup fixed starting place in all disciplines secured next season. He also won the Super-G rating.

Cook made his World Cup debut on November 27, 2010 in the Downhill from Lake Louise . He won his first World Cup points on January 14th, 2011 as the 28th of the super combined in Wengen , after which he remained without points in the World Cup until the end of the next season. In the Nor-Am Cup he won two races in the 2010/11 season . He came third in the Super G classification, fourth in the downhill classification and fifth in the overall classification. In the next winter of 2011/12 , Cook achieved third place in the downhill ranking with four podium places and sixth place in the overall and giant slalom ranking of the Nor-Am Cup. In the 2014/15 season , Cook achieved his best World Cup results to date with 12th place in the Super-G's in Beaver Creek and Val Gardena .

On February 5, 2015, Cook surprisingly won the silver medal in the Super-G at the 2015 World Cup . A little over a month later, he took his first World Cup podium in the same discipline when he finished third in Kvitfjell on March 8th . Eleven days later he won his first World Cup race in the Super-G at the World Cup final in Méribel . Before the start of the 2015/16 season , Dustin Cook had a hard crash during giant slalom training in Pitztal, Austria, and did not start at any race for the entire season.

In early March 2020, Cook announced his resignation.
