Dustin Cook contested his first FIS races in December 2004. After winning the first FIS races in March 2006, he has been competing in the Nor-Am Cup since the 2006/2007 season . From 2007 to 2009 he took part in three Junior World Championships and achieved ninth place in the downhill 2009 as the best result . In the first few years in the Nor-Am Cup, Cook suffered a lot of failures and only rarely made it into the top 20. In the winter of 2008/09 his results improved noticeably. In the disciplines of slalom, giant slalom and Super-G, he reached eight top 10 placings and with third place in the giant slalom of Panorama on December 17, 2008, he was on the podium of the top three for the first time. He also won the Super-G rating.
