history

DutchBird was founded in 2000 to enable flights like Amsterdam-Tunis. DutchBird initially had six aircraft, one of which was decommissioned due to lack of comfort. In 2001, 2002 and 2003 DutchBird was named “Best Dutch Charter Airline”. The passengers consisted mainly of conference members, symphony orchestras and the footballers from Ajax Amsterdam. DutchBird had been Ajax Amsterdam's official charter airline since September 2002.

As a result of the 2003 oil crisis, revenues began to decline. Therefore, DutchBird had to file for bankruptcy in 2004.
