DutchCaribbeanExel was a Dutch holiday airline based in Amsterdam and based at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol . The airline operated vacation flights to the Caribbean for a number of travel companies .

history

DutchCaribbeanExel was founded in 2004 and started operations on July 15, 2004, when it was the only airline in Sint Maarten . Initially the head office was in Philipsburg on Sint Maarten, then in Amsterdam. The airline connected Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with the airports in the Netherlands Antilles and was 100% owned by the ExelAviationGroup. Operations ceased in February 2005 when the ExelAviationGroup filed for bankruptcy . In December 2005 the company was liquidated and KLM bought the license rights for DutchCaribbeanExel.
