NetherLines , actually Netherlines Airlines For European Commuter Services BV , was a Dutch airline based in Eindhoven .
history
The NetherLines was founded in April 1983 by Leen P. Jansson. In January 1985 flight operations began with a Handley Page British Aerospace Jetstream 31 on the Amsterdam - Luxembourg route. This was followed by the Amsterdam - Groningen connection and a cooperation with NLM Cityhopper . NetherLines flew for these routes that were not economically viable to fly with the Fokker F-27 and Fokker F28 . Later a Dornier Do 228 was leased to be able to offer longer connections to Hamburg and Vienna. In the spring of 1988, NetherLines received two more Jetstreams for greater expansion. After KLM Royal Dutch Airlines had already taken over NLM Cityhopper in mid-1980, an additional offer for NetherLines followed. This was accepted and so on January 1st, 1989 NLM Cityhopper and NetherLines became KLM Cityhopper .
Destinations
Connections were offered from smaller Dutch airports to destinations in Germany ( Münster / Osnabrück , Cologne-Bonn , Hamburg ), France ( Lille , Strasbourg ), Austria ( Vienna ) and Great Britain ( Birmingham , East Midlands , Luton ).
fleet
In 1985 the NetherLines fleet consisted of five British Aerospace Jetstream 31s .
Later Saab 340 aircraft were also operated .
