Schreiner Airways was a Dutch airline based in Hoofddorp and based at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol .

history

The airline was originally founded in 1945 by Bob Schreiner as NV Luchtfoto Nederlands , which was renamed Schreiner Aero Contractors in 1957 and finally became Schreiner Airways in 1964 . Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has also been its home base since 1964.

In 1960 Aero Taxi Rotterdam was founded, which operated between Rotterdam, Groningen, Amsterdam and Hamburg.

At that time, the main business area was feeder flights for oil companies. To this end, Aero Contractors of Nigeria was founded, which carried out shuttle flights between oil platforms and the mainland and in 1976 became majority owned by Nigerians.

In 1968 the National School of Aviation was bought and renamed the Nationale Luchtvaart School.

The cargo division called Air Cargo Europe , established in 1989 together with Zimex Aviation , was renamed Schreiner Airways Cargo and existed until 2001.

The company filed for bankruptcy in 2005, was taken over by CHC Helicopters and renamed CHC Airways , which is why helicopters were flown under code sharing.
