The company was founded in 1848 in Einbeck not far from the Marktkirche .
For several decades the location was at the Hullerser Tor of the former Einbeck city fortifications . In 1993 the move to Landstr. between Einbeck and Hullersen . A subsidiary was founded in China in 2002, one in Slovakia in 2006, and another in South Carolina USA in 2014 and 2017 . The traditional English company Rykneld Tean Limited in Derby (Derbyshire) was added in 2014 and SpaWeb in Accrington in 2016 .
