The ETAS GmbH is a German company that provides solutions for the development of embedded systems for the automotive industry and other fields of embedded industrial supplies.

ETAS GmbH, founded in 1994, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bosch Group with international subsidiaries and sales companies in France, USA, China, Japan, Great Britain, India, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Sweden, Italy and the Russian Federation. ETAS GmbH does not publish an independent annual report. The total number of employees is given as of January 1, 2019 at over 1,400.
As a subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH , ETAS GmbH (Engineering Tools, Application and Services) joined forces with LiveDevices Ltd. in 2003. in York , Great Britain , and Vetronix Corporation in Santa Barbara , California , USA , to form the ETAS Group with headquarters in Stuttgart .
ETAS supplies automotive manufacturers , their suppliers , engineering service providers and customers from other areas of the embedded industry with tools and solutions for embedded systems , such as development tools (in the form of software and hardware ) for control units in cars and trucks , engineering services, and consulting , Training and support. Such tools and solutions have been used in the automotive industry since the beginning of the 90s, with the aim of shorter development times, higher software quality and better error analysis.
Security solutions in the area of embedded systems are offered by the subsidiary ESCRYPT.

ASCET
Open product family for the model-based development of embedded automotive software :
- model-based software design for control functions and control algorithms ,
- Simulation and rapid prototyping of control unit functions in the office, laboratory or vehicle,
- automatic code generation for control units in series quality ( quantities over 65 million since 1997),
- Compatible with standards such as ASAM (including MSR ), OSEK , AUTOSAR , MISRA , XML , UML and IEC 61508 (certified for safety-critical systems) and
- compatible with tools like MATLAB / Simulink .
Used in the development of control units for combustion engines , hybrid drives , transmission controls , driving dynamics ( ABS , ESP ) and comfort electronics .
BUSMASTER
Open source software for the design, monitoring, analysis and simulation of electrical bus systems in vehicles and industrial plants. BUSMASTER was published in 2011 by ETAS and RBEI (Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Limited). The initial version is based on a proprietary variant called CANvas , which was originally developed by RBEI.
INCA
Measurement and calibration environment for control units:
- Measuring , displaying, recording and evaluating control unit data,
- Adjustment and administration of data sets ,
- based on open automotive standards,
- for use in laboratories, vehicles and test stands.
According to the company, it is the market leader for measuring and calibration tools.
INTECRIO
Product family for virtual prototyping and rapid prototyping of ECU functions:
- Integration of models from ASCET and MATLAB / Simulink as well as C code ,
- Verification and validation of ECU functions even under real-time conditions,
- for use in the office, laboratory and vehicle.
LABCAR
Product family for creating, executing and automating ECU tests based on models from ASCET, MATLAB / Simulink or C-Code.
RTA-OSEK
Real-time operating systems (RTOS) for ECU processors:
- conforms to standards such as OSEK-OS , AUTOSAR , MISRA ,
- Distribution in the three-digit million range.
hardware
Various hardware products for:
- Connection of control unit processors (e.g. ETK ),
- Acquisition of measurement data,
- Real-time simulation of ECU functions or their physical environment,
- Diagnostic and test applications for vehicle diagnosis , such as ISO22900 -compliant Vehicle Communication Interfaces (MVCI) and embedded scan tools.
