Peter Ahlwardt (born February 14, 1710 in Greifswald ; † March 1, 1791 ibid) was a German theologian and philosopher. He belonged to the school of the rationalist philosopher Christian Wolff .

Ahlwardt came from an old Greifswald bourgeois family. He attended the town school and studied at the universities of Greifswald and Jena from 1727 first theology , soon devoted himself more to the philosophy and the law and drug education. In 1732 he was awarded a doctorate in philosophy and a master's degree in Greifswald , and from the following year he held lectures in philosophy and mathematics.

In 1743 he became adjunct and in 1752 full professor for logic and metaphysics at the University of Greifswald. In 1764 he was rector of the university.

Peter Ahlwardt was a member of the German Society of Greifswald . He founded the Greifswald Abelite Order . He bequeathed his manuscripts and the book collection to the Greifswald University Library .
